The Quetzal Família wines are only produced in year in wich we can guarantee an extraordinary quality on these wines. Our Quetzal Família White 2014 comes from the colonel’s vineyard, the oldest vineyard on our property. he Antão Vaz grapes are harvested by hand, after a light crushing and a gentle pressing, the must will ferment in new 500 lts French oak barrels and ages for 18 months with weekly batoning. After bottling in magnum bottles, it will age for 24 months. Magnum bottle will help the wine stay at its best for a longer period of time.
The grapes from the Vinha das Pedras plot were harvested at a high stage of maturity, in small boxes and immediately transported to the winery, having been immediately cooled to a temperature of 10 ºC. A complex, sweet wine, rich in ripe black fruit aromas and very intense on the palate, ideal as an aperitif or to accompany dried fruit.
Our excellent Verdelho is created from grapes from a plot located in the lower parts of Quinta do Quetzal, in more fertile and fresher lands. Grapes are hand-picked and cooled 24 hours before being processed naturally by gravity in our modern winery. A true Verdelho experience.
Our Quetzal Familia Red 2016 comes from the stones vineyard. The grapes are hand-picked and then de-stemmed into a French oak vats where fermentation with indigenous yeasts will take place. Quetzal Familia Tinto is only produced in years when we can guarantee extraordinary quality. The magnum bottle will help the wine stay at its best for a longer period of time.
