Our Quetzal Familia Red 2016 comes from the stones vineyard. The grapes are hand-picked and then de-stemmed into a French oak vats where fermentation with indigenous yeasts will take place. Quetzal Familia Tinto is only produced in years when we can guarantee extraordinary quality. The magnum bottle will help the wine stay at its best for a longer period of time.

Description

Quetzal Família wine corresponds to a special and limited edition that only occurs in years considered exceptional, the result of a careful choice of Alicante Bouschet and Syrah grapes that grow in the noblest plots of the property, whose level of development and maturation presents a unique quality. Quetzal Família is thus not only a reflection of the place where they were born but also an expression of the artistic approach we have towards life, being presented and sold in MAGNUM bottles.

Wines

Our excellent white Reserva is produced exclusively from pure Antão Vaz grapes from our oldest vineyards. They are picked by hand and processed by gravity in our modern cellar. They ferment in French oak barrels for 6 months and age in our cellars. The result is a complex aroma of tropical fruits, toast and spices.

The Quetzal Família wines are only produced in year in wich we can guarantee an extraordinary quality on these wines. Our Quetzal Família White 2014 comes from the colonel’s vineyard, the oldest vineyard on our property. The Antão Vaz grapes are harvested by hand, after a light crushing and a gentle pressing, the must will ferment in new 500 lts French oak barrels and ages for 18 months with weekly batoning. After bottling in magnum bottles, it will age for 24 months. Magnum bottle will help the wine stay at its best for a longer period of time.
