Quetzal Brut 2017 is the result of a celebration. Having the privilege of being an active part of such important dimensions, of being able to aggregate them at Quinta do Quetzal, deserved a particular and festive wine that would be the deserved company on special occasions.

Description

After careful selection of the grapes in the vineyard, they were harvested before the beginning of the harvest in small boxes, immediately transported to the winery. This wine can be consumed immediately, or stored in a cool place, protected from light.

Vinification

After careful selection of the grapes in the vineyard, they were harvested in the beginning of the harvest season into small boxes and immediately transported to the cellar and cooled down to 10ºC (50oF). The resulting must be placed inside a stainless-steel tank inside a cold room. The fermentation occurred for 15 to 20 days 14ºC (57oF) of temperature. The bases of this sparkling wine were bottled after 6 months, where the second fermentation took place in the bottle for about 24 months until “degorgement”.

Cellaring Potential

This wine can be consumed immediately, or stored in a cool place, protected from light.

Tasting Note

Citric color with intense aroma, notes of white fruit together with toasty bread notes. In the mouth its balanced with very nice acidity and freshness, with fine and persistent bubbles.

Pairing Suggestions

Perfect as an aperitif, but also to accompany grilled fish or sea food dishes.

    The Quetzal Família wines are only produced in year in wich we can guarantee an extraordinary quality on these wines. Our Quetzal Família White 2014 comes from the colonel’s vineyard, the oldest vineyard on our property. he Antão Vaz grapes are harvested by hand, after a light crushing and a gentle pressing, the must will ferment in new 500 lts French oak barrels and ages for 18 months with weekly batoning. After bottling in magnum bottles, it will age for 24 months. Magnum bottle will help the wine stay at its best for a longer period of time.
