Quinta do Quetzal is set in the heart of the Alentejo region on the rich slopes of Vidigueira, close to the oldest known Roman winery in Portugal and Spain.

Our winemakers have selected the best grapes of the Antão Vaz variety, resulting in a fresh, mineral white wine with great aromatic complexity. Only part of the wine is fermented in French oak barrels, giving the wine a very discreet, elegant and woody taste.

Description

The wine shows a citrus color and a complex aroma where white fruit and citrus notes are mixed with dry fruit notes from aging in wood. Its structure allows it to accompany white meats, complex and exquisite fish dishes, seafood and light cheeses.

  • Quetzal Família | White

    The Quetzal Família wines are only produced in year in wich we can guarantee an extraordinary quality on these wines. Our Quetzal Família White 2014 comes from the colonel’s vineyard, the oldest vineyard on our property. The Antão Vaz grapes are harvested by hand, after a light crushing and a gentle pressing, the must will ferment in new 500 lts French oak barrels and ages for 18 months with weekly batoning. After bottling in magnum bottles, it will age for 24 months. Magnum bottle will help the wine stay at its best for a longer period of time.

  • Guadalupe Winemaker's Selection | Red

    Our winemakers have selected the best grapes with a perfect level of maturity from the Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Aragonês grape varieties. The result was a fruity and intense red wine that reveals a good structure and some complexity on the palate. The wine is aged for 12 months in second-use French oak barrels, thus revealing its discreet, elegant and woody taste and improving the wine’s aroma.

    Our Quetzal Familia Red 2016 comes from the stones vineyard. The grapes are hand-picked and then de-stemmed into a French oak vats where fermentation with indigenous yeasts will take place.
